Ghana FA boss Kurt Okraku outlines plans curb player exodus

President of the Ghana FA Kurt Okraku is concerned about the rampant departure of players from the local scene and has therefore rolled out plans to curb it.

The mass exodus of players from the local scene has affected the standard of the Ghana Premier League and other leagues in the country.

Most players who turn out to perform well join other clubs on the continent or move to Europe for greener pastures.

Speaking at the ‘Meet the Press’ in Kumasi last Wednesday, the Ghana FA capo disclosed strategic intervention are in place to enrich the players in their quest to curb player exodus.

“The policies we have rolled out is a testament of our believe that when we do the right levels of investment our leagues will grow and when our leagues grow, our players will be happy and when they are happy, they will stay in a lot longer”

“In our desire to make this happen, we have make proposals to government for strategic intervention that will make our players to get more money to stay longer and to be recognized by the selectors of our national teams in the attempt to build strong national teams. I believe government will support our call” he said.
