Fiber cuts has been noted to be the main reason for the persistent network related issues experience by users of the telecommunications giant MTN.
This according to the Manager is a major drain on the company as it cost them thousands of cedis to resolve issues of fiber cuts that are mainly caused by road construction on major sites where these fiber cables are laid.
MTN Regional Manager, Nii Adotey Mingle, made this known during an editors forum in Tamale as part of it’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
He meanwhile noted that stakeholders have been engaged to ensure Mtn is contacted to relocate the fiber to make way for their road constructions when the need arises.
Aside fiber cuts, he outlined fast growing technology as another major challenge in the telecommunications industry, as telecos will have to invest and adopt quickly to changing technology.
Moving forward Mr. Adotey Mingle has noted that the good things mtn has been doing will continue and also improve on suggestions raised during the editors forum.
He underscored the major need to continue educating customers on the need to stay alert on fraudsters and desist from sharing sensitive information that could lead to them being defrauded of their hard earned money.
