Not long ago American rapper Nicki Minaj revealed plans to sign rappers for her record label, through the viral #megatronchallenge, birthed by her new song Megatron.
Although Holland-based Ghanaian artiste Nana Fofie is not a rapper, her cover of Megatron caught the rapper’s eye and has earned her a spot on the label.
Nicki Minaj delivered the news in an Instagram post after sharing a video of the singer-songwriter doing a cover of Megatron.
The ‘Bang Bang’ hitmaker mentioned how impressed she has been with Nana Fofie’s talent since last year when she chanced on the singer’s ‘Mad Over You’ cover.
Nicki Minaj after seeing the cover got the singer to open for her during the Europe tour in March.
“I always talk about her on Queen Radio. You can thank me later. Her song Odo is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I played her “mad over you mashup” on my ig while I was on vacation in Turks. Me & Bae LOVEEEEE HER MUSIC,” Nicki Minaj wrote.
Known as the ‘Mash-Up Queen,’ Nana Fofie has worked her way up the music ladder with her brilliant covers and mashups.
