NAM1 faces court today on charges of fraud

CEO of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, will be put before an Accra High Court today, Friday, to face charges of allegedly defrauding about 16,000 customers.

Nana Appiah Mensah has been charged with two counts of abetment to defraud by false pretence and two counts of abetment to carry out banking business without a licence which goes against banking rules and regulations.

It is believed that Nana Appiah Mensah’s activities led to customers losing close to GHC1.7 billion.

Brew Marketing Consult and Menzgold Ghana Limited have also been charged with defrauding by false pretence, an act which goes against the Criminal Offences Act, 1960.

Appiah Mensah was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport after he arrived in Ghana on Thursday.

He was denied bail by the Ghana Police Service.

According to the police, the move was to give them time to conclude their investigation.
