Black Stars turn attention to Uganda clash after Nigeria defeat

Ghana’s men’s national team, the Black Stars have turned their attention to the final international friendly game against Uganda after suffering a defeat to Nigeria on Friday evening in Morocco.

They conceded in both halves to lose 2-1 to their rivals in the first game in Otto Addo’s return as Ghana coach.

The game against the Cranes of Uganda will be played on Tuesday, March 26 at the Stade Marrakesh.

The Black Stars will be hoping to end the international break with a win after losing to Nigeria.

There were relatively so many new players in both teams, with Forson Amankwah making his debut as a starter.

The game was contested in a typical derby manner with a lot of aggressive play coming from both teams.

Nigeria were awarded a contentious penalty with seven minutes to the end of the first half which was converted by Cyriel Dessers.

The Black Stars went into recess down by a goal at the Stade Marrakech in Morocco.

Jerome Opoku was sent off 11 minutes after the break, with Ghana finishing the game with a man down.

Ademola Lookman scored in the 83rd minute after the ball was put on the plate for him to convert following a counter-attacking situation, making it 2-0 for Nigeria.

Jordan Ayew pulled one back for Ghana in stoppage time from the penalty spot after Antoine Semenyo was brought down to end the game 2-1 for Nigeria.
