Karaga Legislator donates to Northern Regional Police Command

The Karaga constituency lawmaker, Dr. Mohammed Amin Anta has over the weekend donated five(5) motorcycles to the Northern Regional Command of the Ghana police service.

The initiative according to him is to help the police in the discharge of their mandate in the region.

The deputy energy minister noted that the swift responses from the police command in his area during the last electioneering period, is an indication that the police needs support in maintaining the security of our country.

He noted that the police in the region are professionals and are ready to work but only needs the support of individuals to carry out their mandate .

He added that security being at the core of the country’s development, is an indication that the police service needs various forms  of support to enable it execute its mandate.

The Regional police Commander COP Timothy Yoosah Bonga in extending his gratitude to the MP for Karaga for the gesture done them, confirmed that the service needs the support of stakeholders in the discharge of their mandate.

He noted that for the strategies put in place to curb highway rubbery, the  robbers  have now moved to the urban areas as a means of escaping the security on the highways.

This according to the commander will help the service use the donated bikes to clamp down on these robbers in the urban areas.

COP Yoosah Bonga noted that some of these criminals have been arrested on the Yamokaraga road and are currently in custody awaiting trial.

He meanwhile assured citizens of their safety, in this moments of increased robbery and kidnapping.
