Jacob Osei Yeboah congratulates Mahama on NDC victory

The 2012 and 2016 Independent Presidential Candidate, Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah, has congratulated Former President, John Mahama on his victory at the just ended NDC Presidential primaries over the weekend.

In a statement Monday, Jacob Osei Yeboah noted that Former President Mahama was the preferred candidate and that the election was just a formality to endorse him.

He congratulated the Ghana Police Service for providing excellent security and more especially, the Electoral Commission for supervising and conducting a successful election for the biggest opposition party (NDC).

He further urged the NDC as a party to trust the Police Service and the Electoral Commission (EC) to deliver creditably in the general elections just as they did with their internal elections.

“Finally, if the NDC as a party can trust the Police and the Electoral Commission with their internal elections to deliver creditably, then we urge the NDC not to act at variance to this belief but to trust the EC and the Security in the 2020 general elections.”

Meanwhile Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah affectionately called “JOY” also praised the other candidates in the primaries for the show of maturity even after the declaration of results.

The biggest opposition party (NDC) went to the polls on Saturday to elect a flagbearer for next year’s election.  Former President Mahama who led the party to a defeat in 2016 retained the confidence of delegates to secure victory for the NDC in the 2020 polls.
