UER: Minister encourages Assembly Members to approve MDCEs

The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, is encouraging Assembly Members in the region to confirm the President’s nominees for the position of Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs).

“I am pleading with the Assembly members in the region to go out there and endorse the President’s nominees so that we get all our districts set up for the development that we want in the region.” He said on Daybreak Upper East on A1 Radio.

Responding to concerns over the lack of Presiding Members in some districts in the region which could pose a challenge to the confirmation process of the MDCE nominees, Mr. Yakubu said “I know that we don’t have Presiding Members in some of the Assemblies. We are working very hard to make sure that we resolve those matters before they vote. So we have engaged all stakeholders in that regard.”
