The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is intensifying calls for self-employed persons to sign onto the scheme.
The scheme emphasized that the self-employed stands to benefit a lot from the SSNIT pension scheme should they join in and start contributing for the unknown future.
This was made known during a media engagement in Tamale on Sunday June 4, 2023.
As the only reliable scheme in the country that gives relief to contributors at their old age, Mr. Charles Akwei Qarshong the Public Affairs manager for SSNIT, impressed upon the self-employed not to hesitate to join the scheme and enjoy the fruits as soon as practicable.
He emphasized the importance of building a solid financial foundation for the future and explained how the SSNIT scheme serves as a safety net for individuals during retirement, disability, or unexpected life events.
He further outlined retirement security,disability benefits,quality healthcare services among the services one seeks to achieve should they sign onto SSNIT.
In an interview with FiilaNews, The Tamale area manager of SSNIT Mr. Festus Darko Preko, further reiterated the significance of joining the SSNIT scheme for self-employed individuals in securing their financial future.
He encouraged all self-employed individuals in Tamale to take advantage of the opportunity SSNIT offers and enroll in the scheme, emphasizing that it is never too early to start planning for retirement and ensuring financial security.
