The Deputy Attorney General, Joseph Kpemka has said government’s fight against corruption in the country is on course.
According to him, the government is currently pursuing four cases of corruption that would eventually save the country about GHc 1 billion and hinted of more prosecutions in due course.
He said the government is determined to prosecute all cases of alleged corruption it campaigned on during the 2016 electioneering period, to nip the canker in the bud and save money.
Speaking at the inauguration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth wing in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, Mr. Kpemka was optimistic Ghanaians will retain the NPP government for its fight against corruption.
The Deputy Attorney General stated that the NPP government aims at prosecuting corrupt officials and make them pay back stolen monies.
He, therefore, called on Ghanaians to volunteer information on alleged corruption cases to the appropriate agencies as a way of supporting the fight against corruption.
Mr. Kpemka called on the rank and file of the party to unite and work for victory in 2020.
The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Abayage described as unprecedented, the massive development policies being implemented by the NPP government to alleviate poverty in the region.
She stressed that the free Senior High school policy and the restoration of Nursing and Teacher trainees’ allowance among others have reduced the financial burden on parents and provided savings for other economic ventures.
Madam Abayage hinted of more developmental projects that the region will soon benefit from under the NPP government and appealed to the people of the Upper East Region to retain the government in 2020.
