U/E: NPP Chairman urges public to pray for “unforgiving” Former DCE for Bolgatanga East

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, Lawyer Anthony Namoo, is urging the public to pray for the Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bolgatanga East, Prof. Emmanuel Abugre Abole; saying though, he (Prof. Abole) is a minister of the gospel, he has “an unforgiving spirit”.

His appeal comes after Prof. Abole launched a scathing attack on the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu and him Lawyer Namoo, accusing them of failing to ensure a first round endorsement of the DCE nominees for Binduri and Nabdam; who are the candidates for the districts where the minister and NPP Chairman respectively hail from.

In a response copied to A1 Radio, Lawyer Namoo said the embattled Former DCE was acting out of bitterness because he was yet to come to terms with the fact that President Akufo-Addo has refused to re-nominate him as DCE for the Bolgatanga East District.

The NPP Regional Chairman submitted that “Since the nominations were announced, the Honourable Minister and I have worked together moving to all the Districts to ensure that all the Nominees get the requisite approval.”

Adding that “It is rather unfortunate that Abole who did not have the heart to stay on to see to the confirmation of his successor, will in a vain attempt try to impugn my integrity with his baseless and unsubstantiated allegations thereby demonstrating conduct unbecoming of a minister of the gospel and a former DCE.”

According to him, “It is commonly known in the [Bolgatanga East] District and indeed the region that Abole has an unforgiven spirit,[but] little did I know that he will carry the same out in the full glare of the world in the circumstances he did.”

RE: MESSAGE BY FORMER DCE FOR BOLGATANGA EAST, EMMANUEL ABUGRE ABOLE TO REGIONAL MINISTER

The message by Emmanuel Abugre Abole (hereinafter called Abole) ostensibly to the Honourable Regional Minister has somehow managed to drag me in.

  1. I wish to put on record that since the nominations were announced, the Honourable Minister and I have worked together moving to all the Districts to ensure that all the Nominees get the requisite approval.

2 It is rather unfortunate that Abole who did not have the heart to stay on to see to the confirmation of his successor, will in a vain attempt try to impugn my integrity with his baseless and unsubstantiated allegations thereby demonstrating conduct unbecoming of a minister of the gospel and a former DCE.

  1. I also wish to state that no one touch me let alone beat me after the confirmation voting at Nangodi in the Nabdam District on the 30th September 2021. It is therefore inexplicable that Abole who was so bitter and utterly disappointed in his non-renomination by H.E. the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will implode in such an appalling manner by spreading lies and falsehood.
  2. It is to Abole that I ask all and sundry to pray for him so that he may come to terms with the reality that the President has spoken and that he should respect the same.
  3. The use of the inability of a few Nominees to get the requisite confirmation as a subterfuge to castigate the Honourable Regional Minister and my good self for not being reappointed is disingenuous, to say the least.
  4. Although, it is commonly known in the District and indeed the region that Abole has an unforgiven spirit, little did I know that he will carry the same out in the full glare of the world in the circumstances he did.
  5. Like every human institution in the world, the NPP in the Upper East Region certainly has some challenges. However, Abole is obviously such a disruptive, vindictive and divisive character and persona that it will be legitimately expected of him to seek God’s intervention for this Great Party.

Signed

Anthony Namoo Esq.

(Regional Chairman, NPP – UER)
