C.E.O of NPA visits N/R on a working tour

Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has paid a first time visit to the region since he assumed office as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

The C.E.O indicted he was on an organizational tour to help him know the NPA’s offices nationwide, familiarize himself with its staff and enable him fashion out issues affecting its operations.

So far, the team has visited Eastern, Volta, Central, and the Upper East regions with the Northern region taking its turn yesterday.

Dr. Hamid indicated in his submission about his resolve to help regulate the activities of the authority better during his tenure as the Chief executive.

On the closure of  the Buipe BOST station,the authority assured of its negotiation to revive its operations to serve consumers living in the northern part of the country.

When FiilaNews asked if NPA could call for a possible reduction in the price stabilization and energy recovery levy, the answer was in the negative.

According to Mr. Abass Tasuntsi, the Purpose of the levy is to help subsidize the prices of premix fuel used by fisher folks and residual fuel used by industries in Ghana.

Also when prices of petroleum products are rising in the world market, the levy is used to cushion Ghanaians to exempt them from having to bear the impact of the increments.

Meanwhile the NPA has promised to ensure that Oil marketing companies fairly price petroleum products to suit Ghanaians.
