George Afriyie optimistic of Black Stars AFCON glory under Kurt Okraku

Bankroller of Division One League side Okyeman Planners FC, George Afriyie has breamed with so much confidence stating he believe Ghana will end it AFCON drought very soon and will win under the administration of current FA President, Kurt E.S Okraku.

Subsequently, the comments of the former GFA Presidential Aspirant surprised everyone due to his constant bashing on the current FA ever since he lost the ultimate seat in the last GFA Elections which was held in November 2019.

Ghana have gone over 30 year abeyance without clinching the Africa Cup of Nations coming so close to winning recently in 2010 and 2015 but narrowly lost it to the Egypt and Cote D’Ivoire respectively.
In spite of this, the former GFA vice, in a talk showdown with Nhyira FM in Kumasi has disclosed with so much optimism that he sees Ghana winning the AFCON very soon and that will come under the current administration of the GFA. He said;
“We have not been able to win the Afcon from 2008. I will attribute it to sheer luck. In 2010 and 2015 it was just not for us in that era.”
“We may win it under this Kurt Okraku’s management where the perception is we have a poor team which is not in the best of shape as compared to years before.”
The Black Stars just few days ago booked their slot to the 2021 AFCON which will be hosted by Cameroon and also moved on to finish as winners of their group with 13 points ahead 1996 champions South Africa who failed to qualify.
