Former Council Of State Member Rev Kofi Ayeebo Laid To Rest

The late Bishop of the Tamale Diocese of the Anglican Church and former Council of State member, Right Rev. Dr. Jacob Kofi Ayeebo, was at the weekend, laid to rest at his hometown, Yelwoko in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

Dr. Ayeebo served as a Member of the Council of State for eight years under former Presidents John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama.

He was born on July 1, 1960, and until his death, he played various roles towards the development of his community and the entire country, which included the formation of the Anglican Diocesan Development Relief Organization(ADDRO), an NGO contributing to the development of deprived communities.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Abayage, who led a government delegation to the funeral ceremony, said the late Ayeebo played his role and contributed passionately to the development of the region and the country as a whole.

The Bishop of the Asante Mampong Diocese of the Anglican Church, Right Rev. Dr. Cyril Ben Smith, in a sermon, said the late Dr. Ayeebo lived a life worthy of emulation as a man of God and contributed to the growth of the country by impacting positively on the lives of others through his rural development works.
