Extend Ghana Card, Voter Card Registration Exercises – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashaiman Constituency led by its executives is demanding a one-month extension of the ongoing Limited Voter Registration and Ghana Card Registration exercises.

According to the party’s constituency leaders, both exercises have been fraught with extreme challenges, hence, a lot of residents at Ashaiman have not been captured.

Addressing a news conference in the municipality, the Constituency Secretary, Mr Allen Joe De-Graft Quantson accused the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of conniving with the Electoral Commission and the National Identification Authority to deny eligible people within the eastern corridor of Accra the opportunity to register in NDC strongholds.

According to Mr Quantson, Ashaiman has a voter population of 136,000 with 227 polling stations, hence, an extension of the registration period will help reduce the level of anxiety that has bedevilled the entire exercise.

For his part, the Ashaiman Constituency Chairman, Mr Tony Afenyo, questioned why both exercises are running concurrently.
