Engage only Certified Electricians – EC Boss to Ghanaians

Ghanaians have been urged to endeavor to engage the services of only certified electricians for their electrical needs.

This follows the incidence of fire outbreaks recorded in the country in the past years, mostly due to electrical faults.

The regional boss of the Energy Commission (EC), Mr John Bukari made this call during the graduation of 250 electricians who have undergone months of training to be certified by the commission.

For the past 10 years of the certification, a total of 14,000 electricians have been certified as part of the energy commissions act.

The ec as part of their mandate monitor the activities of these electricians and offenders are made to face the law where applicable

Mr Bukari further urged Ghanaians to request for the identity card of these electricians before engaging their services.

In an interview with FiilaNews,Ms Christabel Fatima Seidu one of the newly certified electrician called on young women to venture into male dominated industries if they have the passion to do so.

She meanwhile cautioned them to remain focused as it will draw more attention to what they do due to the gender role assigned to them.

The chairman of the ceremony has thus called on the graduates to live up to expectations in the execution of their duties.

He further called on graduates to provide safety for owners and customers in the discharge of their duties.
