National team coaches to receive salary

The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kurt Okraku, has announced that all national team coaches will be paid monthly during his tenure.

Mr Okraku explained that unlike the past where national teams committee members were not paid by the GFA, the FA’s Executive Council had decided to financially reward anyone who worked for any of the teams.

Financial reward for coaches

Speaking at the maiden edition of the GFA’s Meet-National team coaches to receive salary Bernard NeequayeThe-Press series at the Exim Bank Hall in Accra yesterday, the GFA boss said the new directive would put an end to the days of officials working for the junior national teams without receiving financial gains.

“We have agreed to pay all national team coaches and not only that of the Black Stars, unlike it used to be.

“The Executive Council has decided to financially reward all national teams committee members on a monthly basis to enable them to earn their due,” he explained.

Technical reports

However, the General Secretary of the GFA, Mr Prosper Harrison Addo, explained that his outfit was working tirelessly to ensure that all coaches assigned by the association presented reports of matches and tournaments on time.

Mr Addo noted that the FA was putting in place measures to strengthen its technical directorate to keep the technical teams of the national teams on their toes.

“Those days of no report on time after matches and tournaments are over, and we are looking forward to put in place a very effective technical directorate to ensure that the right things are done.”
