Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, has revealed that all the nine (9) New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs in the Northern Region have endorsed the current NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Baantimah Samba to continue his chairmanship in the Region.
According to him, the NPP Northern Regional Chairman has done a lot by ensuring the party increase its votes pattern during the 2020 general elections in the Region, therefore their decision to throw their weight behind him.
The Yendi law maker stated these with Mohammed Ibn Abdallah on Diamond FM Power Drive on Tuesday 4 January, 2022, “saying if you look at chairman Samba, he has done wonderful great things, although the NPP had 9 seats and NDC also had 9 seats, but given him opportunity he can increase our seats with a greater number”.
He Added that, all the nine NPP MPs had their victory and increase their votes at their various constituencies through the leadership and efforts of Chairman Samba.
“Farouk Aliu Mahama, my brother Habib, Hardi Tuferu my senior brother, Amin Anta, my brother Tampuli, all the nine MPs are solidly behind Chairman Samba. Why will a politician want to change a winning team?”, he quizzed.

A team that has consolidated efforts for the party both presidential and parliamentary, a chairman that has increase our votes, the chairman that is consistent, a chairman that has a-can-do spirit, and so we think that given him our support he can do more for our party in the Region”, he said.
The Yendi legislature who doubled as Board Chairman of Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC), also stated that, all the nine MPs will soon reciprocate their decision known to the general public.
“I am speaking on the mind set of my colleagues and very soon we will reciprocate our support through the medium that everybody will understand us. I don’t think any MP, the nine of us; have any doubt -the capability of Chairman (Samba), and so am speaking and know their minds. At the
Northern Regional caucus meeting Hardi Tuferu is the chairman, and I can tell you all the MPs are behind Chairman Samba, and inshaa Allah chairman will be crowned winner”, he stressed.
Meanwhile, the former Yendi Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Amadu “Dagomba Boy” has vowed to unseat the incumbent Regional Chairman when they go to the Regional Congress in 2022.
While Chairman Samba on the other hand, said Alhaji Inusah Dagomba Boy is a no match for him in the Regional Chairman contest slated for this year.
