Dr. Anyars Congratulates his opponent,EC officials and the Security

The 2020 Parliamentary Candidate under the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Tamale Central Constituency, Dr. Ibrahim Imoro Anyars has extend his felicitations to his contender and all constituents for their show of support to the NPP during this electioneering period.

According to him though he lost as an aspiring candidate, the figures recorded shows an appreciation in votes for the NPP on both the presidential and parliamentary contest and that according to him is worth appreciating. Accepting the choice of the constituents for his opponent to lead, he extended his well wishes to his main contender MP Elect, Ibrahim Mohammed Mutala.

According to the NABCO CEO “the mandate lies solely with the people and their decision is well respected. He noted sadly that though the NPP did not win, they have gained a lot of fortune in terms of votes and it is worth appreciating”.

Hon. Mutala on the ticket of the NDC polled 41,196 votes to beat his closest contender, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars Imoro who polled 33,627 votes.

This is an increase in Dr. Anyars votes of 25,230 polled in the 2016 elections. Dr. Anyars disclosed he has congratulated Mr. Mutala and wish him well as MP Elect for Tamale Central Constituency after the declaration of the results after the end of coalition.

Addressing the Press in Tamale Wednesday, December 9, 2020 which was broadcasted live on FiilaFm, Dr. Anyars noted that He and the NPP government hold their head so high because they fought a good fight which was based solely on development for the constituents of Tamale Central, but they chose otherwise.

He expressed appreciation to the constituents of Tamale Central, NPP Executives from National to the polling stations and volunteer groups for their immerse contribution the campaigns to represent the people of the area.

He also applauded officers of the Electoral Commission and the Security Agencies for a peaceful election in the constituency.

He is hopeful that someday the Tamale Central Constituency will fall for the NPP following the numerous policies, interventions and most especially for resolving the age long Dagbon Chieftaincy crises.
