Little Smiles Foundation donates to Tamale children’s Home

The Little smile foundation has donated some assorted items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Tamale children’s home based at Nyohini to mark the 2020 International Women’s day.

The items donated include packs of pampers, toiletries, washing powder, 10 bars of washing soap, soft drinks and detergents.

The Little smiles foundation also donated a bag of used cloths, wipes, 2 boxes of fabric conditioners and also provided lunch for all the inmates.

In partnership with the Savanna optical eye clinic, all inmates and workers at the Tamale children’s home were given free eye screening.

Founder of the Little Smiles foundation, Yussif Shawana told the media in an interview that it was out of her desire to serve the underprivileged in society that birthed the foundation.

She said the eye screening exercise was to ensure good sight for the children to help them with academic work so they can become responsible citizens in the future.

She added that, “as we cerebrate women internationally, we want come here and share with those of them that are here at the orphanage and taking good care of our brothers and sisters who for one reason or the other this orphanage has become their home”.

Receiving the items, the Principal Childcare Officer at the Nyohini children’s Home, Madam Elizabeth Abah Annan thanked the team for their kind gesture saying she is overwhelmed by the love and compassion shown by the little smiles foundation.

She appealed for support from benevolent organizations and individuals to help children at the Tamale Children’s home.

The Tamale children’s home currently has a population of 26 inmates. But the outreach catered for over a 60 children consisting both inmates and the caregivers children.
