COVID-19 cases in Ghana up by 992; total reaches 21,077

The Ghana Health Service has announced a record of 992 new COVID-19 cases in Ghana. This now puts the country’s case count at 21, 077.

These are samples taken from the period between June 18  and July 1, 2020 In an update on Monday, July 6, 2020, the number of recoveries has also increased to 16, 070 while deaths have jumped to 129.

It means seven new deaths have been recorded since the last update by health officials. The active Coronavirus cases in the country are now 4,878.

Greater Accra Region  alone has 11,508cases, followed by Ashanti Region – 4,534; Western Region – 1,846 and the Central Region with 992 cases.

Eastern Region recorded 835 cases, Volta Region – 369; Upper East Region – 278; Western North Region – 154 and Bono East Region with 139cases.

The Northern Region has so far recorded 137 cases, Oti Region – 112; Upper West Region – 55; Savannah Region – 46; Bono Region – 38 and the Ahafo Region with 26 cases.

The North East Region  is the only region in the country to record a single digit case of 8, after over 4 months of the Covid 19 pandemic in Ghana .
