Upper East Police arrests 2 suspected robbers at Winkogo

The Upper East Regional police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers believed to be involved in a robbery incident that took place on December  28, 2020, at Bukere, a suburb of Bolgatanga.

Ayine Awunnore also known as Agu King, 27, and Daniel Awunnore, 20, are said to be biological brothers.

According to a press release signed by the Public Affairs Officer of the Upper East Regional Police Command, ASP David Fianko-Okyere, the two robbers went into hiding last December after they had attacked a victim and snatched his motorbike and mobile phone.

The statement said they were arrested at Winkongo in the Talensi District by the Upper East Regional Surveillance Team based on intelligence.

The statement also revealed that one dell laptop, three dell laptop batteries, a power bank, one motorbike mirror, two master keys and one Dayang motorbike had been retrieved from Ayine Awunnore.

 

A similar search in the room of suspect Ayine Awunnore led to further retrieval of 27 rounds of pistol ammunitions, one return spring, nine assorted brand new mobile phones, a cash amount of GH250.00, one black cable whip, four memory cards and one royal motorbike.

The police is therefore entreating the general public particularly residents of the Upper East Region, to visit the offices of the regional CID to identify the suspects or their valuables being kept as exhibits for purposes of evidence.
