Board Members of NRSC pays a courtesy call on Yaa-Naa

Board Members of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon Kingdom, Yaa-Naa Mahama Abukari (II) at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi to congratulate him on his ascension to the skin.

Board Chairman Rev. Ismala Awudu said he was happy about the prevailing peace in the area and urged all to work to sustain it to facilitate development because “without peace, there cannot be development.”

The visit was to officially seek the audience of the Yaa-Naa to brand him an ambassador for road safety at the opportune time to support in the fight against road fatalities.

According to Rev. Awudu, there is the need to begin a solid education of road safety now that peace has been restored to the area. This according to him will sanitize the system and protect more lives in the near future.

On his part the overlord of Dagbon Yaa-Naa Mahama Abukari (II), expressed gratitude to the commission for its continued efforts at ensuring safety on our roads, and admonished them to keep the good work.

He pledged his support to the commission in the fight against improper usage of our roads.

The overload expressed his readiness to act as an ambassador even before the Commission finally bestows the title on him.

Meanwhile upon exiting the palace, the board members took the opportunity to Honor “Fancy Gadam” as a road safe ambassador. The musician was also on a visit to the palace as part of preparations towards his peace concert in Yendi over the weekend.

Board Members present during the visitation included; Rev. Ismala Awudu, Board Chairman, Mrs. May Obiri Yeboah , Executive Director of NRSC, Mr. Foster Bafour, Board Member, Mr. Afram, Monitoring Director of NRSC, Mr. Kwame Atuoh, Communications Director of NRSC.

Also present were Mr. Alexander Ayaatah, Northern Regional Manager NRSC, Mrs. Agnes Antwi, Regional Secretary NRSC among several others.
