The Tamale District court “A” on Monday, April 1, 2019, remanded Yakubu Rufai, Assemblyman for the Vitting Electoral Area, for allegedly instigating an assault on a Northern Electricity Distribustion Company (NEDCo) Maintenance Mechanic, one Abdul Rahaman Issah.
The suspect was arraigned before the Tamale District Court “A” and remanded into police custody by his Worship Issifu Amadu.
The suspect who pleaded not guilty will re-appear on April 2, 2019.
The media was reliably informed by a senior security officer at NEDCo only known as Mr. Ofori, that the assault took place whiles the plaintiff and four other staff where on a maintenance visit to the area.
The issue was later reported to the police by Management of NEDCo, who provided the victim a medical form to seek treatment.
A sermon was obtained same day 25th March from the said court, and served to the suspect to appear before court on 28th March,2019.
The suspect did not appear as expect and the His Worship Issifu Amadu of District Court “A” issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
The faith of the accused who is currently in police custody will be determined tomorrow, 2nd April 2019, when he reappears in court.
