NPP Women’s Organizer donates to Tamale Central Prisons

The Northern Regional Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party has today presented items worth an estimated cost of GHC 10,000.00 to the inmates of the Tamale Central Prison.

The item which includes sowing machines, drinking water, ablution cans, mats, toiletries and cash is to help in the smooth running of the facility in every way possible.

Speaking to the media after presenting the items, Hajia Rahana Abdul Aziz, the regional women’s organizer expressed happiness about the initiative of the party’s wing.

She noted that prisoners are the most forgotten people in society hence the decision by her office to remember them from time to time.

“We decided to visit the prisons to show them love and to remind the inmates that they have not been forgotten”, Hajia Rahana stated.

According to her, bringing smiles to the faces of prisoners, orphans and the less privilege in society is the duty of all, hence a call on the general public to find interest in those gestures.

Sounding joyful during the donation, the inmate could be heard from inside cheering at the women’s organizer and her team for the donation done to them.

On his part the Chief Superintendent of Prisons Divine Oklu who received the items on behalf of the service expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the NPP women’s organizer for the honor done the inmates.

He further appealed to relatives of inmates to take it upon themselves to visit the inmates from time to time to help in the reformation process of these inmates.
