In a bittersweet episode of MentorXII, the stage was set for a “Night of Inspiration” dedicated to extending empathy towards the victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage and raising crucial funds for their relief.
Contestants were tasked with crafting performances that resonated with the evening’s theme. Sadly, due to a shortfall in votes, two promising talents, Selasi and Hero T, saw their journey in the competition come to an unexpected and somber end.
The departure of these budding artistes was a solid reminder of the intense competition within the show. Nevertheless, before bidding their most dreaded adieu, both Selasi and Hero T delivered captivating musical performances that resonated with the audience.
Selasi moved the crowd with his rendition of Joe Mettle’s “Mensuro”, a song that beautifully conveys the reliance on God during life’s challenges. Meanwhile, Hero T chose to serenade the audience with Fameye’s “Praise”, a 2021 release that exudes gratitude to the Almighty for His blessings and favor.
As fate would have it, Xara and Ron Kay found themselves on the brink of eviction but were spared by the benevolent judges, receiving a lifeline to continue their journey.
Adding a heartwarming touch to the evening, the departing contestants were treated to thoughtful packages from Vitamilk, one of the show’s sponsors.
In their parting words, Selasi expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’d like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to be here. I also want to thank the judges for their comments. though they were sometimes harsh and, in some cases, cool, I was able to learn a lot from them.”
Hero T, reflecting on his experience, said, “I’d like to say thank you to all the judges. They were very honest with me and showed me my weaknesses, which I’m going to work on and take very seriously. Also, a special shout-out going to everybody that supported me.”
With two contestants down and 14 more vying for the coveted title, MentorXII becomes even more competitive.
