MOLE 32nd WASH conference opens tomorrow in Kumasi

The 32nd edition of the Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation (CONIWAS) conference, will open tomorrow, Tuesday November 2nd, 2021.

The five day event which comes off from the 2nd -5th of November 2021 in Kumasi at the Anita hotel, is aimed at generating policy and practical programme ideas to contribute to informed sector policy on sustainable Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in emergencies.

The conference will also provide information to participants on various WASH policies and programmes, advocate for the improvement of enabling framework for WASH in emergencies, and attract private sector investment with a view to improving WASH service delivery.

The annual conference brings together stakeholders in the WASH sector including Government, NGOs, CSOs and Academia on a yearly basis to proffer solutions for policy and practical change for sustainable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) delivery in line with national and international WASH and development policies.

This year, the thirty-second edition will focus on WASH and emergency Response for sustainable growth under the theme:

‘‘Repositioning the WASH Sector for Emergency Response and Sustainable Development’’.

As part of the conference, members will present Papers on selected thematic areas,hold panel and group discussions on key identified issues, present papers on a parallel session and discuss them and hold a community outreach program to sensitize residents on COVID-19, handwashing among others towards improved hygiene.
