“Most of us can’t even sleep” – Asante Kotoko captain Danlad Ibrahim on club’s poor performance

Asante Kotoko captain Danlad Ibrahim has opened up on his outfit poor performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign, saying a chunk of the squad are having sleepless nights.

The Ghanaian giants are enduring a difficult second round, suffering six defeats in their last seven games and picking just a point across the period.

Kotoko have won only one game in 2024 following a sharp decline in form, which has seen the Kumasi-based giants drop from title contenders to survival hopefuls.

With 33 points, the Porcupine Warriors find themselves in eleventh position in the Ghana Premier League standings.

“We would first like to apologise to our supporters because we know they don’t deserve this kind of result and the things that are happening in the team. However, we want to assure them that we will do whatever it takes to turn it around.”

“It’s very, very bad because a lot of us can’t even sleep and taking into context what we want to do for Asante Kotoko and our careers, this result doesn’t speak well of us the playing body. But we know its part of the job and the only thing we have to do is to change things around now, is to work hard and stay focused. Other than that, it could be worse.”

Asante Kotoko, who are currently eleventh on the league standings will host leaders, Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
